Can anyone advise on what the water tank is made of on a 31ft Mk II and how easy it is to replace a water tank . we have been advised to get the bolts under it checked out. Any advise would be appreciated Thank you Linda

Linda, your title say Moody 33 Mk2 but your post says M31 Mk2, which are completely different yachts, can you confirm which one you are interested in. If its the M31 Mk2 and fitted with bilge keels hence the query about bolts, the tank is GRP and unscrews. Firstly the tank lid comes off but it means breaking the seal and then the tank comes out. If you just want a peep, under the sink we have a cut out were the pipes from the tank exit and there is a wooden cover that can be removed to peer under the tank.

Hi Pete
Sorry yes the enquiry was for the Moody 31. If you remove the cover can you actually see the bolts.
Cheers Linda

linda, some of them. There are more under the floor next to the cooker, this piece of floor about 1 x 3ft, lifts once the screws are removed.

I think you will need a torch and good quality borescope to see them without lifting the water tank.

Linda do you own the yacht? If you are Moody Owner you need to join to ask these kind of questions. If not sorry but this is forum for those seeking to buy a Moody and general questions.

Dear Neil
No we don't own a boat but we are in the process of buying one and the survey came up with this as an issue.
