Moody 31 Mk2 1989 Northern Light
Northern light is a bilge keel with tiller steering which I have owned for 9 years. During this time it has had a new mainsail and lazy bag. In 2022 after discovering a small crack near one of the bilge keels it was taken into Glasson Dock for repair. The crack was repaired both keels were removed and re-bedded, the fresh water tank was removed re-epoxied and fitted with new seals. the hull was cleaned back to gel coat. The total cost of these repairs was £14000. After return to Roa Island the crane company employed to refit the mast managed to drop it - the damage was bad enough to require a new mast and furlex which was paid for by the crane company at a cost of £12000. As you can see with Covid and the repairs the yacht has had little use since 2020. Northern Light has hot and cold water which can be heated by an immersion heater or by the engine, it has an eberspacher heater which is fed from the main diesel tank. the yacht is in good condition and an inflatable with 2.5hp outboard is aviable if required.
