Hi
I'm looking for stanchion poles for my moody 36 mk2 1997. I defiantly need one, two would be preferable. Does anyone have any for sale or could recommend a company that would sell them?

Many thanks Duncan

Duncan also note there were two types of stanchion base used on the 90’s M36. At first they were conventional bases bolted to the teak toerail, but at some stage they changed to a metal stub that the stanchion fitted onto.

Hi Dick,
Thanks for that very useful piece of info. My M36 is from 1997 and I'm really not sure which type I have.
I always assumed that the bases were bolted to the teak toerail. However, if they changed it to a metal stud does that mean that the stud goes through the deck? I assume the only way I will find that out is to take a stanchion and the base apart?

If it’s the stud type it’s very obvious. The stanchion simply drops over the stud and a bolt goes through the two to hold it together. So there’s no apparent stanchion base at all.

Thanks Dick, I therefore have the conventional type were the stanchion base is bolted to the toerail. Now I just have to find the right stanchion poles :)
